Purpose and scope
Dezly publishes educational material about crochet techniques, amigurumi, yarn, tools, pattern literacy, and related making decisions. This policy applies to staff, named contributors, freelance specialists, editors, and anyone who supplies material for publication under the Dezly name.
Our goal is not maximum publishing volume. A useful page should answer a clear reader question, make its limits visible, and provide enough information for the intended reader to act without filling critical gaps by guesswork.
Commissioning and briefs
Every proposed guide begins with an editorial brief. The brief identifies the audience, reader outcome, terminology system, scope, excluded topics, likely safety concerns, sourcing needs, visual requirements, and the editor responsible for maintenance after publication.
Topics are selected for reader value and fit with the publication's specialist areas. Search demand may inform priorities, but it does not justify a page that duplicates existing material without adding clearer explanation, original testing, stronger organization, or a genuinely useful perspective.
Research and evidence
Writers must distinguish among direct observation, practical testing, primary documentation, manufacturer information, regulation, expert guidance, and general editorial judgment. Claims are reviewed in proportion to their potential impact.
- Technique explanations should identify the terminology and conditions in which the explanation applies.
- Materials comparisons must state criteria, test conditions, and meaningful trade-offs.
- Safety or legal information must be framed carefully and cannot imply certification or professional advice that Dezly does not provide.

Sources are recorded in working notes even when a public citation is not required on every sentence. Editors may request additional evidence or remove a claim that cannot be supported responsibly.
Writing and technical editing
Drafts are edited for structure, sequence, terminology, assumptions, counts, measurements, accessibility, and plain language. Editors test whether headings help a reader navigate, whether visual information is also explained in text, and whether instructions contain decision points that need clarification.
Dezly uses US English consistently and explains common UK equivalents where terminology could materially affect the result. Style consistency never overrides technical accuracy or a contributor's responsibility to disclose uncertainty.
Authorship and contributor profiles
A byline identifies the accountable publishing entity and the editorial responsibility behind the page. DEZLY LLC team credits are used when work is produced and reviewed through the company workflow. An individual contributor is named only when that person's identity, role, and accountability have been verified.
Dezly does not invent people, qualifications, awards, years of experience, client lists, photographs, or social profiles to manufacture authority. Substantial real contributors receive appropriate credit; routine production support is not presented as sole authorship.
Automation and artificial intelligence
Automation may assist with formatting, link checking, spelling consistency, structured-data generation, accessibility diagnostics, and repetitive production tasks. Generative tools may support brainstorming or drafting, but generated output is not accepted as evidence, first-hand testing, or an accountable author.
DEZLY LLC remains accountable for every published page. Instructions, counts, measurements, safety statements, disclosures, and citations require review appropriate to their risk. Confidential reader messages and unpublished contributor material must not be placed into tools without an approved privacy basis.
Commercial independence
Advertising, affiliate links, free products, sponsorships, and commercial partnerships are kept separate from editorial conclusions. A commercial relationship does not guarantee coverage, a favorable result, inclusion in a comparison, or advance access to a review.
Material connections are disclosed in clear language near the affected content. Editors may reject an arrangement that restricts testing, requires predetermined wording, prevents criticism, or makes a disclosure difficult to understand.
Pre-publication review
Before release, the responsible editor confirms that the page matches its brief, technical claims are supported, links work, required visuals and alternatives are present, disclosures are visible, metadata is accurate, structured data reflects the visible page, and the content has a maintenance owner.
A page is held when missing evidence could change the reader's result, when the proposed title overstates what the content proves, or when a commercial condition conflicts with this policy.
Updates and corrections
Published work is reviewed when a reader reports a problem, a source changes, a product is materially revised, a standard changes, or the responsible editor identifies ambiguity. Substantive changes update the review date and, where appropriate, add a correction or version note.
Dezly does not silently rewrite a significant error. The Corrections Policy explains classification, review, notification, and withdrawal. A page that can no longer be supported may be corrected, consolidated, redirected, or removed.
