Wonder Woman Amigurumi Crochet Pattern

Head

Use beige yarn.

Row 1: MR 6 (6)
Row 2: [inc] × 6 (12)
Row 3: [inc, sc] × 6 (18)
Row 4: sc, inc, [sc 2, inc] × 5, sc (24)
Row 5: [inc, sc 3] × 6 (30)
Row 6: sc 2, inc, [sc 4, inc] × 5, sc 2 (36)
Rows 7–12: sc 36 (36)
Row 13: sc 2, dec, [sc 4, dec] × 5, sc 2 (30)
Row 14: [dec, sc 3] × 6 (24)
Row 15: sc, dec, [sc 2, dec] × 5, sc (18)

Fasten off, leaving a tail approximately 20 cm (7.5 in) long. Insert the safety eyes between Rows 9 and 10 with approximately 5 stitches between them, then stuff the head firmly.

Hair Cap

Use black yarn.

Row 1: MR 6 (6)
Row 2: [inc] × 6 (12)
Row 3: [inc, sc] × 6 (18)
Row 4: sc, inc, [sc 2, inc] × 5, sc (24)
Row 5: [inc, sc 3] × 6 (30)
Row 6: sc 2, inc, [sc 4, inc] × 5, sc 2 (36)
Rows 7–12: sc 36 (36)

Fasten off, leaving a tail approximately 20 cm (7.5 in). Fit the cap over the stuffed head and use the tail to secure it in 4 or 5 places; it does not need to be sewn through every stitch.

Ears—Make 2

Use beige yarn.

Row 1: ch 3 (3)
Row 2: ch 1, turn; starting in the 2nd chain from the hook, sl st, sc, sl st (3)

Fasten off each ear, leaving a tail approximately 12 cm (5 in). Pin the ears with a slight natural curve. The top of each ear should align with the middle of the eye and sit about 5 stitches from the eye, or where the ear meets the edge of the hair cap. Sew them in place with the tails.

Embroider the mouth with a few strands of embroidery or cross-stitch thread. Yarn may be used instead, but it creates a thicker line.

Shows how to pin and curve the ears, verify their final placement, and complete the embroidered mouth.

Tiara

Use gold yarn.

Row 1: ch 11 (11)
Row 2: ch 1, turn; starting in the 2nd chain from the hook, sc 2, hdc 7, sc 2 (11)

Pin the tiara across the forehead from ear to ear, then secure it with the tails. Continue with the tail to embroider a “V” in the center.

Shows the completed tiara strip, its ear-to-ear placement, and the secured central V.

Hair

  1. Cut black yarn into bunches of exactly 5 strands. Each strand should be about twice the desired finished hair length; extra length can be trimmed later.
  2. To prepare equal strands efficiently, wrap the yarn repeatedly around a piece of cardboard or a small box, then cut straight across the wraps at one point.
Demonstrates wrapping, cutting, and separating black yarn into equal five-strand hair bunches.
3. Thread a separate length of black yarn onto the yarn needle. Bring it up through the neck to the point where the hair part will begin. 4. Center the first 5-strand bunch at the crown. Pass the threaded yarn back into the hair cap over the middle of the bunch and pull firmly to anchor it.
Shows how to position and stitch the first five-strand hair bunch at the crown.
5. Place each new bunch directly beside the previous one. Continue stitching along the hairline and over the cap until all bunches are attached and the head is covered. 6. Apply fabric glue in a small triangle at the hairline, aligned with the ear. Flatten the hair against the glued area so it sits close to the head. 7. Let the glue hold, then trim the hair to the preferred length if necessary.
Shows the cap being covered with yarn bunches, the glued hairline, and the finished hairstyle.

Arms—Make 2

Row 1: With beige yarn, MR 6 (6)
Row 2: [inc, sc 2] × 2 (8)
Row 3: sc 8 (8)
Row 4: Change to brown; sc 8 (8)
Row 5: Continue in brown, sc 3; change to beige, 4sc popcorn; change to brown, sc 4 (8)
Row 6: Continue in brown; sc 8 (8)
Rows 7–9: Change to silver; sc 8 (8)
Rows 10–15: Change to beige; sc 8 (8)

Do not stuff the arms. Fasten off each one with a tail approximately 20 cm (7.5 in) long.

Use gold yarn to embroider details around the silver guard rows. On the left arm, also embroider the arm brace between Rows 12 and 13.

Optional straight-arm variation: The popcorn stitch forms the thumb. If preferred, replace the popcorn with 1 sc.

Legs—Make 2

Row 1: With gold yarn, MR 6 (6)
Row 2: [inc] × 6 (12)
Row 3: [inc, sc] × 6 (18)
Row 4: Change to red; BLO sc 18 (18)
Rows 5–7: sc 18 (18)
Row 8: sc 2, dec 7, sc 2 (11)
Rows 9–11: sc 11 (11)
Rows 12–18: Change to beige; sc 11 (11)
Row 19: inc, sc 10 (12)

Fasten off both legs.

Joining the Legs

  1. Position the legs together with both feet pointing forward. Keep the start of each row at the back so the color changes are less visible.
  2. Place two bobby pins across the stitches where the legs will cross from one leg to the other.
Compares the two arms before and after gold detailing, then shows both legs marked for joining.
3. Work sc normally until reaching the first bobby pin. The next stitch is in the current leg; work the following stitch into the other leg. 4. Continue in sc around both legs. Repeat the crossover at the second bobby pin. This completes the first round of the body.

Body

Rows 1–2: With dark blue yarn, sc 24 (24)
Row 3: sc 3, [dec, sc 6] × 2, dec, sc 3 (21)
Row 4: [dec, sc 5] × 3 (18)
Row 5: Change to red; FLO sc 18 (18)
Row 6: sc 18 (18)
Row 7: [inc, sc 2] × 6 (24)
Row 8: sc 24 (24)

Shows the crossover between the legs, the completed joining pass, and the body worked upward from the joined legs.

Stuff the legs before beginning the decreases.

Row 9: sc 3, [dec, sc 6] × 2, dec, sc 3 (21)
Row 10: [dec, sc 5] × 3 (18)
Row 11: Change to beige; [dec, sc 4] × 3 (15)

Row 12: [dec, sc 3] × 3 (12)
Row 13: sc 12 (12)
Row 14: [sc, inc] × 6 (18)

Fasten off and stuff the remainder of the body. Avoid overstuffing the legs; the bottoms of the feet should still press inward enough for the doll to stand.

Knee Guards—Make 2

Use gold yarn.

Row 1: ch 9; starting in the second chain from the hook, sc 8 (8)

Row 2: ch 1, turn; starting in the 2nd chain from the hook, hdc 8 (8)

Sew each guard to the front of a leg, centering the middle of the guard on the middle of the leg. With brown yarn, embroider the guard straps across the back of each knee, aligned with the top and bottom edges of the guard.

With gold yarn, embroider a vertical line down the center front and center back of each boot. At the front, split the line into two where the boot begins to curve so the detail lies flatter.

Shows the completed stuffed body, two loose knee guards, and the attached guards with boot detailing.

Felt Skirt

The skirt uses 6 dark blue felt pieces in total.

  1. Cut 4 pointed pieces: 2 smaller side pieces and 2 larger pieces for the front and back.
  2. Glue a length of gold yarn along the triangular edge of each pointed piece. Gold fabric paint or a separate strip of felt may be used as an alternative trim.
Shows the finished rear boot details, the four pointed felt pieces, and glue applied for the gold trim.
3. Pin the pieces around the body to confirm their positions. Remove one pin at a time, peel back that edge, and glue the felt in place. If the glue is not strong enough, sew along the straight upper edge near the waist instead.
Shows a gold-trimmed panel, the side pieces pinned to the body, and a skirt panel being glued.
4. Attach the side pieces first, followed by the front and back pieces. 5. Cut 2 rectangles, or very slight trapezoids, the same width as the side pieces. 6. Place these final 2 pieces over the side panels to create the layered skirt effect and secure them.
Shows the four primary skirt panels attached, the two overlays cut, and an overlay positioned over a side panel.

Assembly and Costume Details

Waist Detail and Arms

Use gold yarn to shape a point at the front waist, carry the band around the back, and add the short front neckline detail and centered back bodice line.

Shows the completed skirt and the gold waist band embroidered across the front and back.
Shows the centered back bodice line being embroidered and the short front neckline detail completed.

Pin both arms in place to check that they sit evenly, flatten each open end, and sew the arms to the body with their tails.

Shows the finished bodice details, both arms pinned evenly, and the flattened shoulder join close-up.

Shield Strap

Use brown yarn.

Row 1: ch 36 (36)

The strap is approximately 36 chains long; adjust it shorter or longer if needed to fit the doll.

  1. Begin at the back of the doll, at the bottom right of the center line.
  2. Take the strap over the opposite shoulder, then diagonally across the front.
  3. Wrap it around to the back so it meets and crosses the starting position.
  4. Continue around to the front, finishing in the center of the diagonal cross.
Shows the sewn arms, the shield strap beginning at the back, and its diagonal wrap around the torso.
5. The chain wraps around the body 1½ times. Use its tail to secure it wherever it intersects—once at the back and once at the front.

Lasso

Loop a length of gold yarn twice, then knot the loops together at the top so they cannot shift. Attach the lasso to the right hip. Glue it in place, then secure it again with a separate length of matching gold yarn.

Shows the shield strap being secured, the lasso yarn looped twice, and the loops knotted together.

Attach the Head

The final row of both the head and body has 18 stitches, so the edges should align evenly. Center the face over the front of the body and whipstitch the opening closed. If the head begins to sit off-center, undo the affected stitches, shift it right or left, and resew it.

Finishing Check

Confirm that the hair is secure, the facial features are centered, the arms are level, the skirt has all 6 pieces, the strap crosses at both the front and back, and the lasso sits on the right hip. Shape the stuffing gently and press the soles as needed so the completed Wonder Woman crochet doll can stand.

Shows the lasso secured at the right hip, the completed doll from key angles, and a celebratory completion symbol.
